Wisdom Within is dedicated to spiritual growth and enlightenment.
It is independent of any religion and recognizes that all paths lead to God.

PURPOSE

I am Edwina K. Brady and am the webmaster for this site. The purpose of this site is to act as an aide to those seeking a spiritual path by providing information from many sources. During my own personal search for truth, I have found that the world's great religions are more alike than they are different. Their spiritual truths echo each other and state the same insights and truths in different words for those cultures which they represent. Yet, when compared they are stating the same things. The differences in religions and denominations come about more through man-made traditions, dogmas and doctrines. Stripped of these outer garments the truths are revealed and show to us the Wisdom Within.

Personal Journey

My personal journey in search of truth began 35 years ago with the death of my infant son. Nothing in my religious background had prepared me for the devastation my soul experienced when my son began having convulsions when he was 24 hours old. When he died at eight months old, of course the question was — Why?. I searched the Bible and the various protestant denominations. Truths and insights have come from many sources and not all from organized religion, in fact sad to say, very few came from these sources. Somehow organized religion seems to teach of a God "out there" external to us. Whereas in truth Jesus taught along with all the other great prophets and masters that the true search for God lies within our own hearts and spirits.

Through the years of my search I have held one precept in mind and that is from St. Paul in ACTS.

Prove all things and hold fast that which is good

My guideline in all things is what resonates as truth within my heart. If words, opinions or teachings, generate fear and uncertainity I let them go. If they generate love, peace and harmony within my soul then I accept and integrate them into my life. Through this I have come to know a wonderful loving God - the spirit within. A God without the limitations imposed by man's fears and limited beliefs.

The journey I have experienced has been long and arduous and for that reason I have determined to create this WEB site as a source of the knowledge and wisdom I have gained through the years of my search for God and truth. The hope is that by doing so I can spare many fellow travelers the length of the journey and aid in the walk on their spiritual path.

Much of the wisdom and insights that I have gained over the years is written in poems. The section on Reflection of Love and Life is created to share with you these poems. There are also poems reflecting the heartache and pain experienced through the journey. I am sure that many will be able to relate to these experiences and perhaps these words will express for you your own feelings in similar situations.
