Article from the Bath Chronicle

THE WORDS of sympathy left by hundreds of people in Bath for the victims
of the terrorist attachs on America have been sent to the US Embassy in London.
The messages from local people and visitors to the city
filled up two books of condolence in the Abbey.
The Mayor of Bath, Marian McNeir, signed the book of
condolence with the Abbey Rector, the Rev. Simon Oberst.
She has also sent a letter to New York mayor, Rudolph
Giuliani, expressing the condolences of the people of Bath.
At Bath and North East Somerset Council, books of
condolence will stay open at its three main offices in the Guildhall in Bath, the
Hollies in Midsomer Norton and Riverside in Keynsham at least until the end of the week.
The books have been signed mainly by council workers, as
most members of the public have chosen to go to the Abbey.
The B&NES books of condolence will then also be sent to
the US Embassy.
