| On BEING
I am learning to Be.
- There are some who would say that sounds esoteric like a mystic flake,
- or a "flower child" and has nothing to do with reality.
- The dictionary defines "Be" as to have reality, exist, live.
- We define our own reality according to past experiences,
- present circumstances, and future hopes and dreams.
There is the other person's reality which is completely
- different from our own because of his experiences,
- circumstances, and hopes and dreams.
Then, there is the consensus reality
- which is society's/the world's reality.
- This reality is made of accepted mores and judgments of society
- which most people agree to be true.
Sometimes we rush through our lives just so
- we don't have to think about who or what we are.
- We say we are living life to the fullest.
- But are we?
- Or are we avoiding that which we do not wish
- to see about our lives.
- Are we avoiding seeing that we are not living
- to our greatest potential that we are not doing what we love,
- that we do not have our heart's desire.
Ancient wisdom says we must learn to BE
- and that is not easy in our society which is geared to Doing.
- I have come to learn that Being is Allowing.
- Allowing the Universe to provide for our needs,
- Allowing Love to come into our lives,
- Allowing our lives to flow with Universal energy.
There are those who would say, "I cannot do that.
- I must control my life."
- But I say to you controlling yourself or controlling others
- is done out of fear, fear of not having enough,
- fear of not being successful,
- fear of not being someone of importance, fear of the unknown.
- All of these things are defined for us by others,
- by the consensus reality.
Being is simply self-acceptance, identifying who we are,
- who we choose to Be.
- Learning who we are and who we choose to be requires
- some soul searching.
- We have to stop playing the victim of They, Them, The Others.
We have to disconnect our identities from our jobs,
- our parents, our spouses, and our causes.
- We must disconnect from others analysis of us
- and analyze our own hearts desires.
- We must re-connect our identities to what we want to Be,
- who we choose to Be.
Being is a willingness to step into the unknown,
- recognizing, acknowledging our fears,
- expressing them and allowing them to move on through us.
- Too often, we give up our own will as a barter for Love
- or acceptance from others.
- We let others define success for us instead of determining
- for ourselves what we choose success to be.
Being is following your heart,
- doing what your heart desires,
- doing what sets your heart afire with passion.
- Being is allowing permitting the Universe to bring to us
- its abundance, our survival needs, its Love.
